“Woman of the sun” depicts a San woman collecting nuts out of the ashes. In the far background are two figures. They are a copy of the first Rock Art paintings of European women.
This work places the San woman in a historical context and questions whether she would have continued calmly with her normal household task, had she known what the long term influence of the European would be on her family and children.
The medium is oil and charcoal, and the piece was completed in 2016. Please contact me for price or other information.
